Job Description:
The Senior Mobile Games Engineer works directly with cross-functional internal and external teams to lead the technical development of high quality mobile casual games. This individual will ensure that the games are high quality, high performance and optimized to take advantage of the unique capabilities of the target platforms. The Senior Mobile Games Engineer will be expected to lead and mentor other engineers in the development team.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the full engineering life-cycle of team-based game projects including requirements design, technical design, task estimation, risk mitigation, implementation, testing, debugging, and deployment.
Responsible for effective and frequent communication with project and team members to ensure rapid iteration and highly efficient development.
Responsible for leading and coaching other engineers on the team.
Responsible for deploying and updating games against a defined schedule through thoughtful risk assessment and prioritization.
Requirements:
Has contributed substantially to at least one published game in the Apple App Store.
iOS Programming Experience including: Objective C, C++, XCode, Interface Builder, Instruments, Cocoa Touch, UIKit, Push Notifications, In App Purchases.
Games Programming Experience, including: C++, LUA, OpenGLES, OpenAL, or other games middleware (DirectX, Havok, PhysX, Unreal, Cocos2d, Torque, etc.).
Familiarity with games middleware and SDK development and release strategies.
Demonstrated strong knowledge of object-oriented design and implementation.
Has excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Can evaluate technical risk and make quick decisions on scheduled and team-agreed timelines.
6 or more years experience professional software development.
4 or more years experience C++ games development.
2 or more years experience in a games engineering lead role.
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science.
