JOB DESCRIPTION:
LWW is seeking an Environment Artist with meticulous modeling and texturing abilities to do level / environmental art and Create high quality stylized fantastic landscapes, architecture and in-game art assets for an upcoming next generation kids MMO title with Original IP.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• At Least a 2-year 2D/3D art degree, architecture degree, or equivalent, BFA is preferred.
• Five or more years of art and design experience on previous video game development teams.
• Experience in game development modeling and texturing environments and Photoshop
• Involved in production on at least 1 title that has been previously released.
• Must possess good artistic skills and a working knowledge of 2D/3D art production and pipelines.
• Must be proficient in one or more types of 3D software (Maya, 3D Studio Max) and photoshop.
• 3D modeling, texturing and material creation skills
• Experience with high polygon sculpting in ZBrush or Mudbox and creating high quality normal maps
• Experience with optimized game resolution modeling (5,000-20,000 triangles)
• Strong 2D digital painting and/or drawing skills in Photoshop.
• Experience working with optimized game resolution textures (1024x1024 or smaller).
• Strong UV layout skills.
• Experience with modern real-time 3d engines is a plus, Unity 3D is preferred.
• Skeleton and Rigging experience is required.
• Superior eye for light, shade, color, and detail in creating texture maps and asset creation
• Passion for video games
• Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
• Self-motivation, good communications and organizational skills, and a great team-player attitude
• Flourish in a collaborative environment.
• Able to work creatively as part of a large or small group
• Able to effectively collaborate with game designers and programmers
• Comprehensive skills in next generation game development 3D modeling and texturing
• Work experience on MMO’s is a plus
• Animation skills is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Using industry standard 3D packages as well as Unity 3D tools, create environments and other art assets for the project. These assets could include any skeletal models, along with weapons, props, and other character related assets.
• Creates high quality and stylized 3D environments to include, assets, texturing, and lighting in Unity 3D, mapping predefined textures and creating new textures.
• Closely follows art and design concepts.
• Integrates assets into game.
• Participates in visual comparisons and critiques.
• Analyzes environmental content and provides direction for final polish.
